ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ੩ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਨਿਮਰਤਾ, ਭਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਸਨ। 1479 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ 73 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੱਦੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਯੋਗਦਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸਥਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ, ਆਨੰਦ ਕਾਰਜ (ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਆਹ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ) ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜਾਤ-ਪਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਧਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੰਡਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਕ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੱਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂਤਾ ਦੀ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰਤਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਰੋਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ—ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਦਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਅਮਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ ਦੇ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ, ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਾ (ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ) ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਤਮਕ ਉੱਨਤੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ, ਦਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ—ਉਹ ਮੁੱਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਅ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਦਾ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਵੀ ਹੈ।

Joti Jot Purab, Patshahi 3rd, Sri Guru Amardas Sahib Ji
Sri Guru Amardas Sahib Ji, the third Guru of the Sikhs, was a beacon of humility, devotion, and seva. Born in 1479, Guru Ji became Guru at the age of 73 and served the Panth with tireless dedication. His contributions to Sikhi included the strengthening of Langar as a central institution of equality, the encouragement of Anand Karaj (the Sikh marriage ceremony), and the establishment of important Sikh centers such as Goindwal Sahib. Guru Ji also emphasized the rejection of caste barriers and superstitions, guiding Sikhs firmly on the path of devotion to Ik Onkar through Naam Simran and selfless service.
The Joti Jot Purab of Guru Amardas Ji marks the day Guru Ji left the physical world and merged with the Eternal Light of Waheguru. Before this, Guru Ji formally passed the Guruship to Sri Guru Ramdas Sahib Ji, ensuring the continuity of the divine mission. Guru Ji’s departure was not seen as an end but as a return to the Eternal Source, reminding Sikhs that the Guru’s light is everlasting and continues through the succession of Guru Sahiban.
On Joti Jot Purab, Sikhs remember Guru Amardas Ji’s divine wisdom and his stress on living a life of seva (selfless service) and simran (remembrance of the Divine). His example teaches that spiritual growth is achieved not only through meditation but also through service to humanity. ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਪੁਰਬ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1534 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ, ਨਿਮਰਤਾ, ਭਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਟੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਸਨ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, 1574 ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗੱਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ, ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਆਤਮਕ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਤਾ ਗੱਦੀ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਅਟੁੱਟ ਜੋਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਚਲਦੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ, ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣਿਆ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਚੇ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਮਿਲਤ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਂਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਕਾਰਜ (ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਆਹ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ) ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ, ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
