Sikh Sangat of Virginia celebrated the 540th Parkash Diwas of the First Patshahi, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, on Sunday, November 1st and also on actual Gurpurab day, Monday, November 2nd, 2009.

Sunday, November 1st: Gyani Kuldeep Singh Ji and Ragi Jatha Bhai Angpal Singh Ji (Saharanpur Wale) recited Guru Shabad Kirtan for the Virginia Sikh Sangat.

Monday, November 2nd: Gyani Kuldeep Singh Ji along with Sangat members recited Guru Shabad Kirtan for about 500 Virginia Sikh Sangat. On October 25th, Gyani Kuldeep Singh Ji requested the Sikh Sangat to recite Jap Ji Sahib Path to celebrate this very special Parkash Diwas. On a very short notice, and with the blessings of Guru Sahiban, Sikh Sangat total numbers of Path recitation were as follows:

JAP JI SAHIB recitation 6,816
MOOL MANTAR recitation 220,000

Also in celebration of the Parkash Diwas, Akhand Path was also held from Saturday morning to Monday morning at the Residence of Amrik Singh Ji and Rajdeep Kaur Ji.
